Really, when you think about, what newspaper publisher is going to back Carl Paladino for governor ?.....Even his hometown Buffalo News scorned the favorite son.
First of all publishers like to be thought well of in political and professional circles and Paladino's gruff style isn't for the dainty crowd....And besides, no matter how much you like Paladino's rage against the machine and his proposals for real cuts, there is the lingering feeling that his lack of skill and knowledge would end up making Eliot Spitzer look like an effective governor.
Endorsing Cuomo will be an automatic for all newspapers in the state...
And the publishers and the cities they serve remember what the pols know...Andrew keeps score.

We've done it. Another guy runs and gives us an alternative to the same old. Unions, other special interests, this time gays led the charge, dirtied him up. We won, main stream media helped, as they will always do the easiest thing. We've discredited yet another alternative. Now we get StatusCuomo, just like we got StatusSpitzer and StatusPaterson. Next time we'll probably get StatusSchneiderman, as he's the next "professional" in line. I don't know whether Carl was the man or not, but I do know we will never know. We have ourselves a one party corrupt machine that you people support without question. It doesn't say much for you. Vote Owens/Pelosi, Addie Jennie Whatever, New Babe Gillibrand, and the Schmuck. And for the new Gov of NY, vote the old Gov of NY. StatusCuomo. Thug Sheldon can't wait.
This rag, in some circles is known as the "Buffalo Snooze". If I recall correctly, Jimmy Griffin, former Buffalo mayor coined the phrase.
Lets get something straight 1:58. I am voting for Carl but he is the one that discredited himself. Telling someone you are going to take them out is bad enough but to comment on gays and call them disgusting is just insensitive, not mainstream and not his true feelings judging from the fact that he rented space to gay bars.
He is just like Palin...not my guy but a lot closer than the other option.
4:43 I don't agree. I do not trust or believe much of anything that comes from our media. I have no idea of what prompted the reaction from Carl that we heard about. But you can count on one thing, no media type would ever have gone after a child of StatusCuomo's, and if they did it would have been handled quietly, discreetly, and without any other media reporting on it. Face it, this state is owned by the Democrat party. If you want a job with the state, a school, any public entity, you better keep quiet or spew the bs, just like our mindless Mikey. We will never know what Carl was about. Just like the next person who runs against the corrupt machine. I would already put my money on StatusSchneiderman. StatusCuomo has a choice, bow to Sheldon and the special interests, or become irrelevant. If he has the integrity we hope he has, he will be a lame duck within 18months. Then you can vote again, but only for the one the media packages for you.
I suspect at this point that old Carl is not a fav of too many folks?
I've said here before and I'll say it again, Pallidino deserves to be Governor for no other reason than he promised to implement term limits. He can't possibly be any more incompetant than the pack of Jackals we now have, and even if he is, WE NEED TERM LIMITS on these career politicians!!!!!!!!
There are term limits in place already. It's known as get off your lazy butts and VOTE. I'm suprised at how many people complain ad nauseum about the crap that goes on and then they say they dont vote. With some lame excuse like they dont want to get called for jury duty etc.
