Carl Gets a Lesson in How Journalism Works If You Are Not Absoutely Precise With Your Words

I understand what Carl Paladino was saying when he ask the media why they don't ask Andrew about his paramours....It was not an accusation but a frustration over why Paladino gets reduced to answering those questions while his opponent does not.
The media ran with it as an accusation and when confronted by Dicker, Mr. Paladino compounded his problems by saying he would have proof in time. Of course the ambush setting did not lend itself to rational discourse.
Mr. Paladino needs to learn that plain talk also carries with it an obligation for precision and thoughtful. His utterances will lead voters to conclude he hasn't the temperment to be a chief executive which is what he is running for.
Four years ago, we elected a man who didn't have the temperment for the job and the results showed quickly.
I don't think Carl Paladino is anywhere near as bad as some portray....But he needs to put this issue behind him and stop fighting with the press on silly matters.
Paladino is accessible and blunt....That's refreshing compared to the tightly controlled and scripted persona of Andrew Cuomo....But someone needs to tell Carl how this game is played so he doesn't make mistakes like this week's
Carl Paladino now admits he really doesn't have any proof of Andrew Cuomo's 'paramours'

Point taken. But the people who are obligated to hate Carl are not doing so because he's blunt. They hate him because he threatens the borrow, spend, tax, and lie routine that Thug Sheldon and now StatusCuomo will stay with. No amount of nicey nicey will change a party liner's way of thinking on this. They're just looking for an excuse to justify what they've already decided. They have to. They are part of the system. They're entitled and they deserve everything they get, from you. This Carl guy scares them to no end.

Looks like Bob Gorman has given you a lesson in journalism on his blog.

Does anyone in the Doheny group complain that no one from the Press asks Rep. Matt Doheny about his having no service record? Was he physcially unable to join the service and serve? Or did he think education was the way to go and just never found the time to join the reserves while he attended law school. Bill Owens was a Captain and our district houses the 10th Mon Div. at Fort Drum. I'd like to know more about Mr. Doheny's reasons for not having the time to serve his country. Poor boys serve their country and die, while others get Rich while young on 'Wall Street' Lets have some one interview Mr.Doheny on that, it might be interesting.

Of course no one in the Doheny camp is going to complain that the press doesn’t ask such an irrelevant question.

Keep in mind that Doheny came-of-age in the 80’s, when military service was not looked at with the reverence that it is today. We had just come off the unpopular Vietnam war and the draft. MASH was the number one television show, which portrayed war as having no purpose but for the recreation of war hawks. It was a time when, save for West Point recruits, military service was largely the fate of dolts such as Owens.

But rest assured that Owens will soon be serving his country in a very high capacity. Earning a small pittance of what he could earn in the free market, while correcting giant mistakes, such as the ruinous Obamcare bill that Nancy-boy-Owens saddled this country with, by virtue of his ignorance and lack of intelligence.

I remember those nails-on-a-chalkboard commercials that Owens ran right after he rushed to DC to vote for Nancy’s Obamscrare bill. Why doesn’t he run some of those commercials now that the election is imminent?

Tell me really…what good is it to serve your country in the military only to go on and try to destroy it in congress?

Middle-Class Mike brings up a total non-issue, almost framing it as a 'have you beat your wife lately' question... although I could actually see some ignorant Owens supporter cornering Doheny asking him why he never served in 'Nam.

so if you ask Matt Doheny why he never did any military service time your asking an insulting question of little or no relevence. I'm sure all our troops in Iraq and Afgan. will be interested in that point of view. I'm sorry but I think from this district in particular its very relevant question, where our relationship with the military and all the troops living here require an experienced person pertaining to military matters. Doheny says I worked on Wall Street, I know Wall Street, do you know at ase Matt.

Because it IS irrelevant. It's not like there's a draft being dodged or deferments for college. Perhaps you may have missed the memo about this being a voluntary military. While having a military may have 'added value', the absence of same isn't necessarily a deterrent.
