City Sweepers Out...Geothermal Debated...Noise Law Too
The day you see the street sweeper out front is just about the best day of the year...Its a sure sign the winter is over and the dirt and grime of the long cold season is being cleaned up. Next step is when the crews from Seaway Gardens comes to clean the lot and get the planters ready. Tomorrow is a City Council meeting.....One interesting topic will be the release of findings on a study on geothermal heating and cooling of city buildings. I won't tip my hand here as the MSM has not seen the advance copy but it should be interesting as this is a key political as well as policy issue. The proposed noise law will also come to a vote, although different variations have also been privately discussed. A grant to DPAO for concert advertising and proposed monies for various social agencies are also likely to be discussed. Looming too is the proposed City budget, due to hit the street in two weeks.

Geothermal heat would be a wonderful way to combat global warming and move away from dependence on the dreaded greedy murderous energy companies. Do make sure that none of these technologies have any impact whatsoever on anyone. The musn't see anything. Goodness knows they cannot damage the view near Wiley's house. That be a no no. And if the move requires equipment to be installed, have you considered the possibility that a crow might fly into that seemingly innocent addition to the city skyline? How would you feel then?
Some day the core of the earth is going to cool and solidify. That will cause our planets magnetic field to disappear like happened on Mars and then our planet will not be able to protect itself from solar radiation, resulting in the death of all life.
You want to accelerate that process by stealing the heat from mother earth?
Why can't you tell us information you know? We must wait until reporters report on it? I thought you were all about open government? If you are willing to tell us what's what, then tell us.
Its more out of deference to my colleagues on Council who voted for the study. I felt it should be formally presented by the firm that did it rather than an interpreted version from me.
Since a majority voted to conduct the study, I am content to hear the presentation and discussion before commenting.
It will be presented Monday night.
I thought you were sitting on the info because the shadow government media wrote a crybaby op ed piece complaining about you releasing information on your blog that you were privy to as mayor.
You should tell them to just get elected as mayor or volunteer countless hours and then they will have your same information.
4:23, that was the most brilliant post ever. I just knew there was a reason we couldn't use geothermal energy and you provided that information. There, doubters. No coal, oil, gas, nuke, wind and now, no geothermal. Thanks 4:23. Ahh, don't worry about it. I'm sure geothermal would have caused ADHD anyway. There would have to have been another reason too. Stand down activists everywhere, we have already turn back the tide.
Not in our backyard dammmmittt.
