You need a new style and pop culture adviser. Those shirts are anti-cool in design and lacking in aesthetics overall. So is the logo. Just because someone is good-looking doesn't mean they know what good-looking is when they see it.
Maybe you should give the 'love my mayor' signature edition to your friends at the Times.
