Man, Upset Over Son, Attacks Head Shop ...Raids Follow Today

Police, led by federal agents, reportedly raided upstate head shops in a coordinated series of actions against stores allegedly selling designer drugs commonly called "bath salts" and "window cleaner". The WDT reports drugs and cash were seized at one Watertown store.
Meanwhile a 49 year old Watertown man was charged yesterday with using a baseball bat to smash up Tebb's Head Shop in Northland Plaza on State Street. The man told police he lost his cool over his son's alleged purchase of the drugs at the store and resulting medical issues he says nearly led to his death.
There has been increasing pressure to act on the issue of synthetic, "designer" drugs that have caused mayhem among those using what they figured was a legal drug.
Recently, the NYS AG brought civil suits against some shops as well.

It's about time our money is spent well. No one should be allowed to be a legal drug dealer in NYS. No one. I hope they crack down on them all and we no longer have to worry about drugs in our kid's hands. I watch mine like a hawk, but these people must keep trying to sell anyway. How could you just sell drugs to a kid or an adult? What kind of person does this? How can you for that much see some adult man come in with his kids and buy a smoking pipe or more? I would puke.

Not one to advocate vigilante justice,but..I understand.Maybe these people that peddle this poison should look at themselves in the mirror, and change their lives.

These peddlers are no different than the drug dealers. It's too bad that they do not even care about people, period. They have no mirrors to look into, that's why they sell.

I love vigilante justice. But the vigilante still needs to be prosecuted too. Consider it a form of community service. Heroes do the justice that our justice system does not do and then they have to do some time.

well, are the salt things legal or not? if not, then our legal system is not doing its job. If they are legal then the fault lies with our legal system. It is to bad that our government is blind to common sense,

I understand peoples feeling in this matter, but emotions aside, and speaking of responsibility, there's thousands, no, tens of thousands of products, chemicals and plants that provide some type of intoxication. Most of them are legal in some form or another and many are way more toxic than drugs/plants that are labeled as illegal. Educate yourself, and don't be hypocritical, before you praise some vigilante who overreacts to an alleged health issue with some chemical or another. You don't see people smashing up gas stations when their children wreck the family car.
