The Times reports Speaker John Boehner will be coming to the aid of Matt Doheny, but it will be in the Eastern Front in scenic Lake George.
The fundraiser will be a closed affair as it's doubtful the Ohio Republican has that much impact on voters but would be a fundraising draw in the Capital Region.
The NNY district has brought some big names in the last couple elections including President Bill Clinton and Vice President Joe Biden.
Former GOP Senator Fred Thompson has visited, as have other lesser luminaries.
Look for more celebrity this fall as our hotly contested race heads to the wire.

This is pretty impressive and shows that he cares about getting his name out in the Glens Falls region. To bad from what I hear he doesn't care about the the Plattsburgh region as much. From what I have seen he has only opened two campaign offices one in Watertown and Glens falls I guess Plattsburgh isn't important enough for him to care about.
Are you kidding me? John 12% Boehner? The last time the North Country GOP did something like this is when they tried to bring Oliver North in to be a presenter and role model for the boy scouts!
Just because a campaign does not open a office in a city does not mean he/she does not care about it. Grant you Owens is from Plattsburgh so you would think that alone would be enough to fast track a office in the city.

Just what the North Country needs. Further proof Dosweeney is disconnected from NY 21 and the real people (not private island owners) who live here. Bring Boehner on. Can't hardly wait!
I would not bring in that buffoon if it were my campaign. It might make some money for the campaign but he will need more money than it brings in to undo the negative impact of his visit. Jeff you need to take over his campaign so he quits doing stupid strategies.
The only worse strategy imaginable would be if Owens brought in Obama or Nancy to raise money for his campaign.

Well Doheny is going to lose if he does not start campaigning in places like Plattsburgh and the new district areas. I got the come to the grand opening of our offices and i saw the Plattsburgh office coming soon. So James i agree with you, this stop by the speaker shows what Matt cares about the big cities not about the semi small cities like plattsburgh. When Owens wins again the campaign will look at each other with dumb looks and blame everyone but themselves. When Doheny shows he cares about small cities like plattsburgh thats when ill vote for him. But right now I'm voting Owens!!!
If Doheny goes to Plattsburgh I will not vote for him. Plattsburgh gave us Owens who gave us nancycare. I have not forgiven them yet. When Owens gets beat if we see that Plattsburgh came to their senses and voted for Doheny then we can put them on the schedule for the next election for a visit. Otherwise not.
9:08 - I have no doubt he will be there. The guy works like a dog and criss crosses the district every week. I wished I owned a gas station in Watertown, doheny's campaign travels alone would probably have doubled my revenues.
748: I get your point but Plattsburgh is decently important. Its a area that Doheny could win if he decide to pay attention to it and St Lawrence is a bigger waste of time since its mostly union.
If Doheny loses and the DEMS happen to regain the House (a strong possibility) Boehner would lose as Weeper.
That would provide another oppotunity for us to see him go through a box of kleenex on FOX and Fiends trying to justify how the DEMS stole the election.
DOHENY will not go to plattsburgh waste time. Call his office and ask if they will build a office they will say yes soon but we know it won't be built waste of money.
